Timeless Traveler began with a giant tortoise in the Galápagos highlands. Photographed by Zarana Patel in 2023, this encounter became the starting point for the artwork.

Zarana and I watched the tortoise move through the highlands, stopping to feed along the way. There was something absorbing about watching an animal of that size go about its day so unhurriedly. Even those simple movements held our attention.

This photograph showed the tortoise’s full form, capturing its proportions and imposing presence. The geometric interpretation preserves that complete silhouette, bringing the shell and body together in a design that carries the same sense of weight and quiet strength.
